South Dade Music LLC – Studio Policies

Effective Date: June 19, 2025

0. Definitions

“Studio,” “we,” “our,” or “South Dade Music” – refers to South Dade Music LLC, a Florida limited liability company operating out of 1150 NW 72ND AVE, Tower 1, Suite 455 #20366, Miami, FL 33126.

“Parent(s)” or “Guardian(s)” – refers to the legal adult(s) responsible for the student’s care, transportation, communication, and financial obligations.

“Student” – refers to the individual enrolled in any program provided by South Dade Music LLC.

“Enrollment” – refers to a student’s active participation in a paid lesson program or camp.

“Program” – means any service offered by South Dade Music LLC, including lessons, camps, and events.

“Dismissal” or “Removal from the Program” – refers to the termination of a student’s enrollment due to policy non-compliance, non-payment, or safety concerns.

“Policy Updates” – means this document is subject to change, and continued enrollment signifies agreement to the latest version.

1. Lesson Types and Scheduling

South Dade Music LLC offers private lessons, group lessons, and summer camps. 

  • Private lessons are held weekly. 
  • Group lessons occur twice a week, including one instrument-specific class and one ensemble class. 
  • Summer camps are multi-week seasonal programs.

If students take a break from lessons, their spot is not saved. Enrollment is based on availability and first-come, first-served policies.

2. Payments & Invoicing

Tuition is billed monthly at a flat rate regardless of the number of lessons in a month.

Invoices are sent on the 22nd of each month and are due by the 25th. These invoices are for the upcoming month of lessons.

  • Example: An invoice sent on March 22nd is for April tuition and must be paid by March 25th.

A $25 late fee applies after the due date. Lessons will be paused if payment is not received by the first lesson of the new month.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Stripe (contactless credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google pay, etc.)
  • Cash (paid at the studio)
  • Checks made payable to South Dade Music LLC

Important Payment Terms

  • South Dade Music LLC is not responsible for:
    • Any bank overdraft fees
    • Credit card interest
    • Payment processing fees charged by Stripe or your financial institution
  • All payment processing or transaction fees are the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian.
  • Returned checks incur a $35 NSF (non-sufficient funds) fee.

Tuition Policy

  • All tuition payments are final, non-refundable, and non-prorated.
  • No adjustments will be made for missed lessons unless canceled by the studio.
  • Make-up lessons, if offered, are scheduled at the studio’s discretion and only at available times.
  • Missed make-up lessons will not be rescheduled.

3. Missed Lessons

Lessons missed by students for any reason will not be rescheduled, refunded, or credited. This includes illness, vacations, school conflicts, or lack of transportation.

If a lesson is canceled by the studio or instructor, a make-up lesson may be offered at the studio’s discretion and only at a time designated by the studio. Missed make-up lessons will not be rescheduled.

4. Media Policy and Performance Participation

South Dade Music LLC photographs, records, and films students for educational, marketing, and documentation purposes.

By enrolling, you consent to your child’s image, name, voice, and likeness being recorded and shared across promotional materials, social media, websites, and publications.

You waive the right to approve or review any such media content.

Participation in media and performances is required for all students enrolled in:

  • Summer Camps
  • Group Lessons
  • Private Lessons

Exemptions are granted only to:

  • Adults in private lessons
  • Students with documented, pre-approved exemption

Students who opt out of media may not participate in performances, public events, or group activities where recording cannot be prevented.

(Refer to Section 5 for performance requirements.)

5. Showcase Requirement

Student showcases are held every 3 to 4 months.

Participation is required for all enrolled students unless exempt under Section 4.

Showcases help students develop confidence, accountability, and stage experience.

Non-participation without approval may affect enrollment status.

6. Community Performance Bands (Audition-Only)

Community performance bands are by audition only and require:

  • Extra rehearsals
  • Travel and weekend commitments
  • Purchase of uniforms or equipment
  • Additional instructor fees, if applicable

Practice is essential. Students who do not prepare adequately may be dismissed from the group.

South Dade Music LLC is not responsible for:

  • Student supervision before, during, or after events
  • Transportation or travel logistics
  • Gear, uniforms, or associated costs

An adult must always accompany and supervise the student at these events (Refer to Section 13 for hold harmless provisions.)

7. Practice Expectations and Parental Support

Students are expected to practice 4–5 times per week.

Parents can help by:

  • Establishing a regular practice schedule
  • Encouraging consistency
  • Staying in communication with instructors

8. Communication and SMS Opt-In

All families agree to receive email and SMS notifications regarding:

  • Scheduling
  • Studio updates
  • Events
  • Emergency closings
  • Marketing/Promotions

Opt-out is available by replying STOP. Standard carrier fees may apply.

Consent is collected during registration 

9. Studio Etiquette

All students must:

  • Arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before class
  • Bring required materials and instruments
  • Show respect to staff and fellow students

Repeated behavioral issues may result in warnings or removal (Refer to Section 15.)

10. Holidays and Breaks

We observe the following holidays:

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Break
  • Winter Break
  • Spring Break

The studio also closes for at least one class following each major studio-wide performance to reset and prepare for the next unit.

11. Student Pickup and On-Site Safety

Students must be picked up promptly at the front door. A staff member will dismiss students individually.

We are not responsible for:

  • Students crossing streets
  • Entering the wrong vehicle
  • Remaining unsupervised after class

Consistent late pickups are grounds for dismissal from the program.

Parents may only stay during free trial lessons unless otherwise invited. This policy helps minimize distractions and anxiety (Refer to Section 15.)

12. Discontinuation Policy

To cancel enrollment, two weeks’ written notice is required via email or paper.

Verbal notice is not valid.

Tuition is not refundable or prorated. Parents are responsible for full monthly payments whether or not the student attends.

We are not responsible for additional charges incurred if proper notice is not given (Refer to Section 2.)

13. Hold Harmless Agreement

By enrolling, families agree to release South Dade Music LLC and its staff from any liability related to:

  • Injury or illness
  • Death
  • Property damage or theft
  • Emotional distress
  • Accidents at the studio or off-site events

Participation is voluntary and undertaken at the family’s own risk. An adult must be present with students at off-site events.

14. Instrument Care and Liability

Students must treat all instruments with care.

Parents are responsible for the repair or replacement cost of any damaged equipment.

We are not liable for:

  • Lost or stolen personal items
  • Malfunctioning personal instruments brought to the studio

15. Behavior and Dismissal Policy

Respectful conduct is expected from all students and parents.

Grounds for dismissal include:

  • Verbal or physical aggression
  • Disrupting lessons
  • Repeated lateness
  • Bullying
  • Inappropriate language
  • Uncooperative communication from parents

Three-Strike Policy:

  1. Verbal Warning
  2. Written Communication
  3. Permanent Dismissal

Immediate dismissal may occur in cases of unsafe or abusive behavior.

(Refer to Sections 9 and 11 for related expectations.)

16. Policy Updates

South Dade Music LLC may revise these policies at any time.

We will notify families by email or SMS. Continued enrollment after notice signifies full agreement with updates.
